Description: This educational program is intended for gastroenterologists, internists, and other healthcare professionals in active clinical practice involving the management of patients with Crohn's Disease or ulcerative colitis. After successful completion of this activity, participants should be able to: Recognize key biological features associated with the development of IBD. Comment on methods of detection of IBD. Comment on challenges and controversial issues in disease management of patients with IBD. Understand how current research and basic science may impact disease management of the future. Identify current and new treatment options and their role as part of the current treatment armamentarium for IBD.
