Eating Disorders: Best Practices (More Info)

Description: All of our courses are approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors, the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, Florida Board of Nursing and National Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors. This course meets license renewal continuing education requirements for many licensed health professionals and is taught using text, narrated PowerPoint, video and mp3 audio. All course materials and reference materials are available free online. The learner objectives are: Summarize the diagnostic character resident is for anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder; Summarize the most common psychotherapeutic interventions for each disorder; Describe the characteristics of clients with each of these disorders; Identify common psychological and medical disorders that co-occur with eating disorders; Describe how to place patients in any appropriate level of care; Identify psychological or physical symptoms in comment in eating disorders which may necessitate hospitalization; and Summarize the goals of treatment for persons with eating disorders.
