Description: All of our courses are approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors, the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, Florida Board of Nursing and National Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors. This course meets license renewal continuing education requirements for many licensed health professionals and is taught using text, narrated PowerPoint, video and mp3 audio. All course materials and reference materials are available free online. The learner objectives are: Learn the basic principles of suicide assessment; Identify ways to estimate suicide risk; Identify the necessary components for a suicide assessment; Identify risk management methods including consultation, documentation; Identify methods for determining appropriate placement; and Understand the factors contributing to suicide risk.
